New work
Bird Roads 2011
I have continued experimenting with sewing and quilting with paper and am really liking the results, there are a lot more pieces I'm working on and a lot more ideas coming, which is a great feeling. I will use some of the images to make cards and others will be framed up for the open studios event in May

Wool Band Nostalgia
I was sorting out today and came across this band from some wool which I have had around for years and eventually used in this crochet blanket last year.
I think the wool had originally belonged to my grandmother and got passed onto me at some point. It was lovely wool to use and I enjoyed the link it set up, with my grandmother choosing the wool at some point in the past and me eventually using it to make something

Ready and Waiting
Here's my studio space all cleaned and painted and ready for me to move in
The space has a wonderful old beam cutting through it and a cast iron pillar. It feels a bit like a cabin on a massive liner
This is the view overlooking the river with the cathedral in the distance - how splendid is that!

Studio Excitement
I am very excited to be moving into a studio space in this building. It is called The Old Bakery Studios and my space is the centre top floor window over the TS on the Blewetts sign. There are 45 studios in the building and all have been taken so I am really looking forward to being part of a new and vibrant community of artists and makers. I will be painting my space this weekend and then moving in over the next week or so. Its going to be quite a change from working in the spare room at home and the first time I've had a space to go to work in. I'm looking forward to not having to tidy up quite so often!
